My Dear, Dear Friend
Sometimes, being seen is the beginning.

This is the first time I am directing my writing to someone specific. And when I started to write, I realized, it’s not for one, but for each one of us who is stuck here.
My dear, dear friend,
I know you are hurting. I know you are struggling. I don’t know why, and I don’t need to know why.
All I want to tell you is that you don’t have to do it alone. You don’t have to say it either.
I am here just to sit in silence with you. I am here to share my pain with you, if you want to get lost for a while in someone else’s tragedy, because, honestly, everyone has one.
I am here to sit and chat about any and every nonsensical topic with you, until you get tired of arguing with me…
or, better still, until we are laughing for no reason at all.
Seeing you reminds me of me. Not long ago. Maybe even the present me. And perhaps that is why I am here, because I wish someone had seen me too.
I wish someone had looked at me in that space and simply said,
“I see you. You don’t have to go through this alone.”
Every struggle is different from the other, and from everyone else’s. Some of it is so intense that words simply cannot hold it. But this I know:
Not being seen makes it many times heavier.
Sometimes, being seen by a stranger can make things feel better. Sometimes, it can blast everything open in the worst possible way.
Whichever way it goes, being seen ignites something, a starting point, a tiny beginning to a journey towards feeling better.
Maybe that is what the first 0.5% really is.
Not a solution.
Not a miracle.
Not suddenly becoming okay.
Just the tiniest shift that tells you:
Maybe I can take one more step.
Something that you and I needed to find our way back to ourselves.
Something that lets us close one chapter and slowly begin another, a chapter with a different self.
So, if you are reading this, and I know you are, I am here.
Not to solve you.
Not to be nosy.
Not to prove a point.
Not to give you solutions you didn’t ask for.
I am here simply to look at you and say, I see you.
And then to sit with you in whichever way you need, silence, words, laughter, or even a little gyaan if asked for ;).
Because everyone has a different poison that works for them. And maybe, sometimes, what we need isn’t someone to tell us what to do.
Maybe we just need someone to stay, someone to sit beside us while we figure out how to save ourselves.
So, my dear friend, you don’t have to explain. You don’t have to pretend. You don’t have to be okay today.
Just know that someone sees you.
And for today, perhaps , that can be your first 0.5%.
